Reuniting the Stones of Hyde Abbey – a talk by David Spurling

25 Apr 2015 until 25 Apr 2015, 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Location: Hyde Parish Hall

David will describe the research being carried out by the Hyde900 community group and the search for stone that was used in the buildings before the Dissolution. The stones which have been found have been evaluated by a master mason, and drawings made of the different architectural elements. A picture is emerging of the appearance of the Abbey buildings, and an understanding of the history of the Abbey and its inhabitants. The latest discoveries will be shown.
