Courtesy of the Hampshire Cultural Trust the ever-popular medieval tile making will also be taking place in the City Museum over the festival.

Tile makers of all ages will be able to make their own replicas of tiles found on the site of Hyde Abbey and for a small fee they can have their efforts fired and glazed.

Booking for tile making is strongly recommended. Be prepared to get your hands dirty!

  • There is no fee for taking part, but tile makers can have their tiles fired and glazed for £10 per tile. However tiles take up to 6 months to dry prior to firing, so will not be available until around Christmas
  • Once fired and glazed, tile makers will be notified by email, and tiles can be collected from the City Museum.
  • Those taking part under 18 need to be accompanied by a responsible adult who must also book.
