In an exciting new development Hyde900 has worked with local archaeology organisation WARG to investigate what lies beneath a garden in King Alfred Place which covers a key corner of the demolished Hyde Abbey. Volunteers were invited to take part and there was an open day to view the finds on Sunday 24th April.

The event proved to be a roller coaster of emotions for those taking part. Midday of the last day and the mood was sombre with little having been found. Then new information led to an amazing result. Time Team couldn’t have choreographed it better.
