Outside in Hyde

datePosted on 18:53, June 10th, 2011 by Madelaine

The first outdoor event held by the Hyde900 Third Thursday BYO Literature group was a great success. A number of readers shared their work in the chamber of Hyde Gate and repaired to the Hyde Tavern afterwards for refreshment.

Please join us this Thursday 7th July at 7.30pm in the Hyde Abbey Garden for the second open-air reading evening in this historic setting.
This evening’s readings will be poems on the theme ‘Inspired by Winchester’.
Read your own work, or just come and listen. Bring a chair or rug to sit on.
Directions: Hyde Abbey Garden is near River Park Leisure Centre.
  • If you’re driving, we suggest you park in the back half of the leisure centre car park (free after 6pm). The Garden lies between the two halves of the car park.
  • If you are walking then from the Hyde Tavern, walk towards the City centre, take the first left into King Alfred Place and walk as far as you can until you enter the leisure centre grounds, where you will find the Hyde Abbey Gardens.
We look forward to seeing you then.

Join us on the third Thursday of every month for the bring-your-own literary nights at the Hyde Tavern continue. Come along and read something of your own or something by a favourite author. Or simply come along and listen. It’s very informal and we are always happy to see new people.

Meet in the bar from 7:30pm onwards, moving to the cellar for the readings at 8pm.

Each night has a theme to inspire you, though you don’t have to stick to it.
