The premiere of Meeting Miss Austen by local writer Cecily O’Neill is part of this year’s Winchester Festival. Last year Hyde900 presented her adaptation of Shakespeare’s Venus and Adonis as part of the 2016 Winchester Festival.

Meeting Miss Austen is inspired by Jane Austen’s teenage depictions of love, loss, vice and victuals. Alcoholic Alice, snobbish Lady Greville, food-obsessed Charlotte and Lovelorn Tom foreshadow the great comic characters of Austen’s mature novels.
